Visiting China’s Experiment City

I visited Shenzhen, China the city that started as a small fishing village in 1980 and became one of the most advanced megacities on Earth in just 40 years. But how?
In 1980, the Chinese government chose Shenzhen as their experiment, a Special Economic Zone where they tested free markets, foreign investment, and private enterprise inside a communist system. It was their controlled test of capitalism. And it worked beyond anything they imagined.
Over two days, I experienced the products of that experiment firsthand:
